The Impact You’ll Make
As part of the Recursion Clinical Development team, you will work within a top-tier multidisciplinary team tasked with efficiently navigating Recursion's clinical candidates to proof of concept and approval as safe and efficacious therapeutics for patients with unmet need. Your understanding of the regulatory, scientific and logistic aspects of the analysis of bioanalytical and biomarker samples will empower pre-clinical and clinical decision making across all target indications.
In this role, you will:
- Define and execute bioanalytical and biomarker strategies for compounds in support of Recursion's clinical pipeline.
- Utilize your deep understanding of quantitative and qualitative bioanalysis to support the assessment of different types of analytes ranging from small molecules to proteins and DNA/RNA.
- Synthesize and interpret in-house and external data spanning the entire spectrum of drug discovery and development.
- Manage vendors that develop, validate and execute bioanalytical and biomarker assays for nonclinical studies and clinical trials.
You can expect to work on multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced and exciting environment. On normal workdays, you can expect to:
- Interface with internal Recursion study and clinical teams to define and execute bioanalytical and biomarker strategy
- Liaise with external vendors to propose, trouble-shoot and validate analytical methods across a wide range of platforms including LC/MS/MS, ligand-binding, flow cytometry, DNA and RNA sequencing and more.Coordinate vendor selection, contracting, and budgeting for pre-clinical and clinical bioanalytical packages.
- Support pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic modelers with high quality, fit-for-purpose data.
- Partner with Clinical Operations to ensure appropriateness of sample collection, transport and analysis.
- Work with Quality and Regulatory Assurance to confirm analysis at the appropriate rigor to serve desired reporting requirements.
Location:
Making Salt Lake City your home base is ideal, however, we will consider remote work for this position. We ask that remote employees commit to regular on-site visits for routine work and departmental events.
The Team You’ll Join
As Associate Director of Bioanalytical and Biomarker Development you will be reporting to the Director of Bioanalysis and Biomarker Development. You will be an essential member of the Development Sciences team within Clinical Development. The Development Sciences group is tasked with the translational activities required to successfully move a program from discovery to development including translational PK/PD modeling, clinical pharmacology, clinical bioanalysis and biomarker development to support selection of the right patient and the right dose. The goal of the group is to use the Recursion Operating System and mindset to rapidly and effectively transition new or repositioned molecules from advanced discovery candidates through IND filings and provide continued support throughout the clinical development program.
The Experience You’ll Need
- PhD with 2+ years, MS with 5+ years, or Bachelor's with 10+ years of Industry experience
- Degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or related discipline with an emphasis on analytical techniques suitable for the extraction and analysis of target compounds from complex biological matrices.
- Previous experience working with or within CRO organizations.
- Previous experience working in the biopharma industry preferred
- Strong working knowledge of regulations, guidelines, standards that guide collection and utilization of non-clinical and clinical samples and data
- Familiarity with regulatory expectations (FDA and EMA) and industry's best practices in bioanalytical and biomarker/diagnostic assay method development and validation
- Ability to diagnose and solve complex technical and scientific problems
- An understanding of principles of relationship management across diverse internal and external stakeholders
