The Impact You’ll Make:

As an Equipment Technician (Contractor), you will be pivotal in ensuring our laboratory associates and scientists are able to deliver on the mission of Decoding Biology to Radically Improve Lives.

On any given day you will:

  • Discover the root causes of standard laboratory equipment failures, and repair or replace as required and directed by management or SOP’s.
  • Learn about the details of our laboratory processes to better troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams within the company, and equipment manufacturers as necessary, to provide the best solutions to failures or sub-optimal equipment performance.
  • Document all work you perform and everything you learn in your investigations. To both create a record of each piece of equipment’s service life, and create a database of root causes and reported failures to speed future troubleshooting.
  • Pivot – You will be managing a variety of competing priorities and will need to be able to shift and adapt at a moment’s notice.

Location: This position is based at our headquarters in Salt Lake City and is a 100% on site position.

The Team You’ll Join

You'll be joining Recursion’s Equipment Support team. This team's mission is to maintain and repair standard laboratory equipment ranging from liquid dispensing instruments and centrifuges, to laboratory refrigerators and freezers. A small but critical team, we are directly responsible for making sure that the laboratories have the necessary equipment to deliver results. We work side by side with the Automation Support team.

The Experience You’ll Need

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic and electromechanical equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs

How You’ll be Supported

  • A hands on training approach where you will work with other Equipment Associates and Automation Support Engineers to learn the technical as well as the administrative side of the position
  • Weekly 1 on 1 mentorship with the Associate Director of Automation Support
  • Freshly prepared daily, our on-site kitchen offers a variety of nutritious and delicious lunch options to fuel your day.
