Position Overview

The Test Software Engineering Intern will support the manufacturing team by assisting in process development, implementation, and improvement of production systems. You will gain practical experience in analyzing workflows, troubleshooting manufacturing challenges, and contributing to innovative solutions that drive efficiency and quality in production operations.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Test Software Engineering Intern, you will:

  • Collaborate with software engineers to optimize testing processes, reduce bugs, and improve software reliability.
  • Assist in designing and implementing test cases, scripts, and automation tools to enhance testing efficiency.
  • Conduct live debugging, analyze issues, and recommend improvements to maximize software quality.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action for software defects.
  • Participate in test planning and validation activities, ensuring compliance with quality and performance standards.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and operations teams to ensure smooth software release flow.
  • Document and communicate test results, findings, recommendations, and progress to the team.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of software development processes, programming languages, and frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as C/C#, SQL, or Python; experience with integrated development environments (IDEs) like Visual Studio is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Passion for software engineering and a proactive approach to learning.

Physical Demands:

    • May work various shifts as needed; may be requested to travel to different locations.
    • Lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
    • Able to walk, stand, crouch, bend, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight spaces.
    • Good eye/hand coordination and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items.
    • Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion.
    • Hands-on position on the production floor as well as time spent in an office environment preparing documents and/or performing training.
