TITLE: Staff Integration Engineer
Duties: Act as high-power consultant for customers, helping with all aspects of integrating our components into their vehicle – ensuring accurate technical scope of work, defining interfaces, and acting as the lead technical contact throughout all phases of the project. Lead analysis of technical requirements from 3rd parties at the beginning of project discussions, working closely with Business Development team to accurately scope engineering work. Create documentation of key architectural aspects with customers to define interfaces in various levels of detail. Identify key customer safety requirements to determine feasible and impacts to Proterra systems, including crash, Functional Safety, and regulatory requirements. Engage with other internal Proterra teams early in the project to understand impacts to current Proterra products, modifications needed to support the customer’s applications. Build relationships with technical contacts at customers and 3rd party partners, creating trust and strong collaboration. Continuously evaluate Proterra processes for improvement and refinement, and propose creative methods to improve efficiency, robustness, and quality. This position requires up to 10% domestic travel. Role is hybrid within reasonable commuting distance of the Burlingame, CA office.
SALARY: $190,700-$209,792/year

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field and three (3) years of experience as a Staff Integration Engineer, Energy Efficiency Engineer, Electromagnetic Component Engineer or related role where required experience gained.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Also requires experience in the following:
- Three (3) years progressive engineering experience with vehicle design, performance, or systems integration experience;
- Commercial bus, heavy truck, or automotive vehicle systems development or integration experience;
- Cross-disciplinary aspects of mechanical, electrical/HV, and software/controls aspects;
- Troubleshooting battery issues with CAN trace analysis;
- BMS logic/behavior and high voltage system architecture; and
- Issue resolution and customer design reviews.
