The Opportunity
We are seeking a Capital Markets Analyst to join the Capital Markets Group, which is a part of our Treasury and Capital Markets team. The Capital Markets team is responsible for the market execution of the organization’s funding programs, notably issuance of Asset Backed Securities and unsecured debt, together with structuring of Loan Sales/Forward Flow agreements and ABS (Asset Backed Securities). This position will work cross-functionally on key initiatives with a number of other departments in the organization including Risk, Legal, Treasury, Accounting, Sales, Business Intelligence, and Product.
Your day-to-day
Assist members of the Capital Markets team with live transactions, including asset-backed securitizations, and forward flow loan sales.
Support legal team and help coordinate internal and external parties for securitization transactions (internal management, underwriters, rating agencies, legal counsel)
Build out and manage a suite of financial models related to existing transaction performance, asset pricing, loan performance and other key metrics.
Help develop and maintain models including but not limited to: Loss analysis for rating agencies
Assist with the prospecting and development of various lending partnership, including ABS warehouse facilities and forward flow programs
Manage day-to-day communication and due diligence requests from capital partners.
Maintain surveillance of the performance of Mosaic’s ABS trusts and off-balance sheet portfolios and compile a dashboard with monthly trends
Create and maintain databases/lists including investor lists, transaction comparables, and data/performance.
Analyze and report on the performance of asset backed transaction
Support ad hoc analytical projects for the finance team and executive leadership.
Develop and update marketing materials for use with prospective investors.
Collaborate closely with other functional departments including Treasury, Finance, Risk, Legal, IT and Accounting.
Other funding and balance sheet management projects as directed by management
What you bring to the team
B.A or B.S in Finance, Economics or other related degree
0-3 years in finance, debt capital markets, ABS issuer, rating agency or related quantitative fields
Experience working in a robust internship will be considered
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (particularly in Excel, PowerPoint) required
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication as well as technical and organizational skills
Team player: ability to work successfully with a variety of personalities and disciplines across the organization
Ability to represent the organization professionally and to cultivate and maintain relationships with funding and capital partners.
Excellent work ethic and willingness to contribute broadly to achieve team and company objectives
Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities under pressure.
Bonus Points
Skills in SQL, R, or Python and Visual Basic
Prior experience in consumer lending
Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $70,000-100,000. The position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
