At Lilium, we're pioneering the future of aviation with our cutting-edge electric aircraft. As a Team Lead in the Test Execution team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our innovative technology. Our Laboratory Test & Experimental organization is responsible for component, system, and aircraft level tests, covering propulsion, batteries, structures, and electronics. We are looking for a driven individual to join the Test Execution department and lead the Integration and Environmental team who is end-to-end responsible for the execution of tests at different levels from Technology Development to Certification.

Your Role:

As Team Lead for Integration and Environmental Test, you will be responsible for:

Leadership:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to a team of experienced engineers.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient working culture within Lilium’s test facilities.
  • Manage the performance, well-being, and continuous development of your team members.

Test Execution Ownership:

  • Overall responsibility of the test execution at Integration and Aircraft Level
  • Take ownership of multiple test assets yourself and ensure they are always ready for testing, including configuration, safety, calibration.
  • Supervise the overall schedule to drive efficient test execution.
  • Ensure configuration of the test assets is managed appropriately.
  • Support the Integrated Project Teams to recognize test requirements to drive test execution efficiently
  • Develop processes and guidelines with your team.

Test Execution:

  • End to End responsibility for test execution under the umbrella of Integration and Environmental streams
  • Adhere to internal processes to deliver the evidence in terms of documentation and data required for Safety of Flight and Compliance demonstration tests.
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with the Test Services department
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with external test houses

Support and Best Practices:

  • Responsibility for resource and workload planning and coordination with interfacing teams.
  • Advise the test engineering team on best practices within the test facilities.
  • Stay updated on new developments in testing and share knowledge with your peers.
  • Work on ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.

Your Profile:

  • University degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field (M.Sc/M.Eng preferred)
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in Integration and Environmental Testing
  • Good understanding of DO160 requirements
  • Good understanding of DO178 requirements
  • Good knowledge and experience in aerospace testing processes, measurement methods, and calibration.
  • Good knowledge of ATA-23/ATA-34/ATA-42 systems
  • Knowledge and experience with multi-kW electrical powertrains and aircraft-level system integration is beneficial.
