Your Role and your Team:

In this role, you'll work closely with a team of highly skilled engineers and designers to develop software systems that meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, safety and cyber-security. You'll have the opportunity to use your expertise in model-based design to create software architectures, develop algorithms, and generate code that meets rigorous aerospace industry standards.

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in software development and certification, with a focus on model-based design. You should have a deep understanding of software development methodologies and tools, and be able to apply that knowledge to complex aerospace systems. You'll also need to be an excellent communicator, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Your Tasks:

  • Develop and implement cutting-edge embedded software solutions for our eVTOL aircraft, including requirements, architecture, and application-level software using model-based design with Matlab Simulink
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system and software requirements and ensure software is fully integrated with hardware components
  • Optimize software performance for speed, memory usage, and power consumption, while adhering to strict safety and cyber-security standards
  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues in both hardware/software and system domains, with a focus on safety-critical systems
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in embedded software technology and make recommendations for process improvements and new development initiatives

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience developing embedded software in C
  • Proficiency with model-based design using Matlab Simulink in aerospace domain
  • Familiarity with microcontroller architectures, motor-control algorithms, aerospace actuation systems, and communication protocols such as CAN, Serial and Ethernet
  • Understanding of hardware/software co-design principles and experience working closely with hardware teams in an aerospace environment
  • Knowledge of safety-critical software development practices, such as DO-178C and DO-331
  • Demonstrated experience and success in managing complex technical projects in the area of
    • Flight Controls
    • Actuation and motor control
    • Battery Management Systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
