As part of the Global Regulatory and Public Affairs team, you will work on all aspects of regulatory matters for Lilium in Europe and internationally, tackle challenges and deliver something that has never been done before. The company is embarking on an entirely new concept, bringing electric air mobility into cities and communities. Thus, the creation of new rules will be required in areas such as air operations, pilot licenses and airspace integration. You will be tailoring and implementing our regulatory strategy, engaging with regulators around the globe and shaping the regulatory landscape for eVTOL jets and electric aviation overall. Your role also encompasses monitoring and intelligence gathering of relevant policy developments at EU and national levels, drafting and defending policy papers, representing Lilium in trade associations and other forums.

The position reports to the Head of Global Regulatory & Public Affairs and will work closely with other members of the management team.

Your Day to Day

  • Work across the organization to develop, refine and implement Lilium’s regulatory strategy
  • Engage with EASA, FAA, national, international aviation regulators as well as other official bodies and stakeholders to work towards regulatory/legislative change
  • Develop regulatory proposals and manage rulemaking activities with various regulators
  • Conduct research, prepare high-level meetings, draft written submissions and statements
  • Monitor political and regulatory activities in relevant jurisdictions
  • Represent Lilium’s interests in relevant trade associations and other interest representations

Your Profile

  • Significant work experience (5+ years) gained in the field of regulatory affairs with exposure to top-level decision makers
  • Significant experience and knowledge in aviation law
  • Top track record of effective regulatory adjustments
  • Strong academic background in a relevant discipline. A background in aviation law and /or proven understanding of aviation law is a strong plus
  • MBA, strategy consulting, start-up, or other relevant business/corporate experience a plus
  • Fluent in English, German would be advantageous and any additional language skills will beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken and able to develop positive working relationships across different levels and functions
  • Able and comfortable working in a developing, fluid and constantly changing company, as well as handling multiple priorities while constantly meeting deadlines
