Your Role and your Team:
We are looking for an outstanding Energy Storage Senior System Electrical Engineer to join our innovative team that will shape the future of urban e-mobility. This position will contribute, as part of an integrated cross-functional team, to the energy systems architecture, design, and delivery of the Lilium Jet. This will include the development of the high power energy storage elements for our e-VTOL.
Your Day to Day:
- Electrical design of innovative high voltage energy storage systems with focus on electrical topics like grounding and bonding, creepage and clearances, and busbar sizing at up to 1000 VDC
- Specification of system, subsystem, and component requirements, and detailed design
- Network and component modelling and simulation, especially regarding electrothermal and transient behaviour
- Management of component suppliers
- Specification of laboratory testing
Your Profile:
- M.Sc./Eng. or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field required
- Min. 5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, familiar with vehicle electric powertrains and lithium batteries
- Strong knowledge of standards and good practices in battery design, electrical wiring, printed circuits, EMC, bonding, insulation, and related electrotechnical components and materials
- Experience with specifying welding requirements would be beneficial
- Experience in specifying requirements and tests
- Skilled in electrical network modelling and analysis
- High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomous
- Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills are required
- Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial
