Legal & Regulatory Director

We are looking for a Legal & Regulatory Director to join Hedvig and our mission to disrupt an entire industry with people’s best interest at heart. As the only loved insurance company in Sweden (in the world?), we’ve proven that it’s possible to disrupt an entire industry with people’s best interests at heart. We’ve been working hard since the very beginning to change an industry that is hard to love – to something at least likable. What about the role?
You will join our team in Stockholm, leading the Hedvig Group’s first line legal and compliance. We are an innovative driven organization where you will be exposed to various exciting opportunities where accountability and ownership is key and where you will play an integral role in the operation and development of the business.

  1. Developing, automating and managing the Group’s legal and compliance program, ensuring management adapts business to regulatory requirements
  2. Participating in and contributing to the management team of Hedvig Insurance
  3. Monitoring the regulatory landscape and adapting the business to new or amended regulatory requirements
  4. Advising and educating employees and management on compliance issues
  5. Coordinating with the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority
  6. Supporting the business in matters of outsourcing processes, insurance distribution, product approval process and customer information requirements
  7. Supporting the business in legal matters such as contracts with key partners

What about you?
If you share our vision and believe that the insurance experience needs to be reinvented, as well as not being afraid of competing with giants, we believe you have the following:

  1. You have a law degree with at least 5 years of work experience
  2. You have practical experience in compliance from the finance industry
  3. You are proficient in Swedish and English
  4. A focus on getting things done, with the flexibility to adapt to a rapidly evolving environment
  5. You communicate complex information in a structured and easy-to-understand manner
  6. Promote a culture of openness, trust, and risk awareness, where ethical, legal, regulatory and policy compliant conduct is the norm
  7. You are business oriented and pay close attention to details
  8. You demonstrate people management skills
