We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Metrology Technician to support our team at Diamond Foundry located in beautiful Wenatchee, WA. The Lead Metrology Technician will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the local metrology department, ensuring accurate measurements and quality control processes are maintained. You'll be working with an experienced team of process, metrology, and materials science engineers, and will be encouraged to gain experience in a variety of techniques and areas. The position will involve hands-on work with metrology equipment, measurement preparation, and data acquisition and requires to work weekends and overtime to meet project deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate and execute metrology activities to support production, research and development projects.
- Prepare samples and perform measurements using advanced metrology equipment and ensure maintenance and upkeep of all metrology equipment.
- Establish and maintain quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurements.
- Collaborate with other departments to address measurement-related quality issues.
- Generate comprehensive reports and detailed measurement results.
Requirements:
- HS diploma (or GED) with 5+ years of applicable work experience.
- Proven experience in a metrology role, with 1+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Knowledge of measurement principles, standards, and equipment.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
- Experience with metrology equipment such as optical microscopes, optical spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction is a plus.

Manufacturing and Engineering Departments Physical Requirements:
-Use appropriate PPE and follow all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
-This position will often: Sit, stand for long periods, walk, grasp, reach with hands and arms, lift below and above shoulders, bend, twist at the waist, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, talk, hear, see, use fine finger manipulation, and complete repetitive motions.
-Some tasks may require the use of ladders or stairs
-Some tasks may require driving or the use of foot controls
-Lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pound
