Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.
We are seeking an entry-level facilities engineer who is willing to learn on the job while working with the facility manager, supporting the facilities functions and technical staff of our 4 locations in the SF Bay Area.
This will entail assisting the facility manager by being his eyes and ears in his absence, addressing issues in real-time, monitoring health and safety, helping with future facilities planning and build-outs, installation of tools and equipment, and coordination with outside Trades contractors and internal stakeholders to provide the means for our technical staff to excel.

Responsibilities:

  • Project management: Oversee installation of facility utilities improvements and tools, and coordinate with stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure the fastest path from arrival at the loading dock to being in production.
  • Documentation, recordkeeping, and writing: Maintaining records for EH&S of chemical inventories, training, waste, and treatment systems. Preparation of SOPs and best practices advice for technical staff members.
  • Construction and Installation: Implement simple facilities equipment and utility improvements as-needed for R&D and experiments. Set up structural supports, anchoring, and bracing for new tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting: Analyze and debug issues with facilities equipment and utilities as necessary, including HVAC, process piping, plumbing, and electrical power distribution systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Materials Science), Physics, or Chemistry.
  • Desire to learn on the job in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office in preparing spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentations.
  • Attention to detail and ability to take careful notes for future reference.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • A qualified candidate will have a subset of these skills:
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Forklift and Scissor Lift qualification.
  • Hazardous materials training/laboratory experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude, "tinkering", and familiarity with hand and power tools.
