Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.
We're seeking an engineer to design assemblies for high-tech vacuum manufacturing equipment, collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines. You'll work with an experienced team of mechanical, electrical, and materials engineers and scientists, responsible for taking projects from concept to fully tested and documented assemblies.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, engineering, building, testing, and optimizing parts for vacuum manufacturing systems.
  • Specification and/or design of facility-level equipment.
  • Managing multiple suppliers to construct parts and assemblies on time and within budget.
  • Selecting and integrating off-the-shelf hardware for process control, product quality measurement, and automated manufacturing tasks.
  • Working with a multidisciplinary team and learning new skills where necessary.
  • Improve existing equipment designs by identifying areas for improvement and leading design changes.
  • Developing assembly procedures and documentation for use by technicians.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in ME or similar from a top tier school.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Independent problem solver.
  • Solidworks expert: 3 years minimum of full-time use.
  • Software: 3D/2D CAD, FEA (Ansys), LabVIEW, PLC ladder logic, SQL, other programming knowledge.
  • Knowledge of UHV vacuum manufacturing equipment and associated sensors and components (Pumps, valves, pressure sensors, spectrometers, MFC's, pressure controllers, pyrometers, etc.).
  • Hands on fabrication: Machining (mill/lathe), soldering, and electrical assembly.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
