Diamond Foundry is seeking a skilled Technician to join our Surface Finishing team in Fremont, CA. As a surface Finishing technician in the Research and Development group you will be joining a small group focused on Quality, Efficiency & Cost in regard to Single Crystal Diamond surface finishing development. This position supports the Engineering effort through preparation of and operation of surface finishing equipment, and related metrology tools. The incumbent will be expected to work night shifts and weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of samples by measuring, mounting, lapping, grinding & polishing when necessary.
- Cleaning of samples.
- Assist Engineering on various non-standard test/inspections as required
- Post Surface Finishing measurements on WLI and AFM.
- Minor maintenance of lab and machine shop equipment and tools.
- Update system and stakeholders on backlog and progress.
- Set up, operate, and clean Lapping & Polishing equipment.
- Preparation Lapping and Polishing Slurries.
Requirements:
- Associates or bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 5 years' experience working in Lapping, and/or polishing environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical lapping and Polishing equipment from LapMaster, Ravasum, Applied Materials, Engis.
- Knowledge of surface Measurement/Inspection techniques.
- Experience with Lapping, Grinding and Polishing equipment.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
