We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Metrology Supervisor to support our team at Diamond Foundry located in beautiful Wenatchee, WA. The Metrology Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the local metrology department, ensuring accurate measurements and quality control processes are maintained. You'll be working with an experienced team of process, metrology, and materials science engineers, and will be encouraged to gain experience in a variety of techniques and areas. The position will involve hands-on work with metrology equipment, measurement preparation, and data acquisition.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a small team of metrology technicians, ensuring their training, development, and performance is optimized
  • Plan, coordinate and execute metrology activities to support production, research, and development projects
  • Prepare samples and perform complex measurements using advanced metrology equipment
  • Establish and maintain quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurements
  • Collaborate with other departments to address measurement-related quality issues
  • Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of all metrology equipment
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the metrology department
  • Generate comprehensive reports and detailing measurement results

Requirements:

  • HS diploma (or GED) with 5+ years applicable work experience
  • Proven experience in a metrology role, with 1+ year of experience in a supervisory role
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Natural curiosity and willingness to acquire new technical skills
  • Maintains a well-organized, clean and safe work area
  • Use of required PPE and safety protocols
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • Leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and mentor a team
  • No work restrictions and excellent vision: sitting, standing, kneeling, reaching
  • Able and willing to work weekends and overtime to meet project deadlines
  • Experience with complex metrology equipment such as optical microscopes, optical spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction is a plus
