Diamond Foundry Inc. is the global leader in single-crystal diamond technology. We produce single-crystal diamond (SCD) wafers by crystallizing greenhouse gas into diamond using proprietary plasma reactors powered by zero-emission energy. We are looking for a versatile engineer to design, build, test, and deploy semiconductor manufacturing related hardware. You'll be working with an experienced team of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, supporting and leading various projects to improve the diamond manufacturing process at our factories. A strong candidate has a subset of the listed skills/qualifications and an interest in developing others.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the automation team to design, upgrade, automate, and troubleshoot in-house and the third-party lines including: CNC lasers, pick-and-place machines, deposition reactors, inspection tools
  • Working with manufacturing technicians to improve operator productivity and with technical staff to improve manufacturing quality, throughput, and yield.
  • Sourcing and interfacing with vendors when appropriate.
  • Writing documentation for the use of equipment, training technicians on correct procedures, and working with them to implement changes they request.
  • Managing project expectations, stakeholders, budgets, and timelines.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or other Engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience.
  • Experience with advanced manufacturing equipment (semiconductor preferred).
  • Experience with industrial mechanical, electrical, and/or control systems design.
  • 3D/2D CAD (Solidworks, Autocad, Draftsight).
  • Finding bottlenecks, optimizing manufacturing flow, and optimizing the process.
  • Rapid prototyping.
  • Position is onsite at least 3 days/week.
