We are looking for an ambitious, experienced and hands-on Process Development Engineer to take responsibility for investigating Polishing and Cleaning manufacturing processes and technologies that will help us make our diamond surface finishing technology even better. You'll be an integral part of an experienced team of mechanical, electrical, and materials engineers, and will be encouraged to gain experience in a variety of techniques and areas. The position in our Fremont facility will involve hands-on work with Polishing and Cleaning manufacturing equipment as well as design, execution, and interpretation of experiments.

Responsibilities:

  • Personally operating, collecting data, and analyzing performance of Surface Finishing equipment.
  • Assembling and implementing R&D equipment modifications and experimental materials and consumables for testing.
  • Setting up experimentation and testing for a variety of physical and material processes, using instrumentation such as WLI, AFM and more to determine performance of various tools and processes.
  • Generate DOE plans for prototype processes, guide process implementation into production. Leverage statistical analysis to provide data driven feedback.
  • Effectively communicating results and recommending course of action.
  • Working across multidisciplinary teams to attack challenges ranging from demonstration of capability to production deployment.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or Master degree in physical science and engineering with 10+ years of relevant experiences in wafer Polishing and Post Polish Cleaning.
  • Knowledge of Polishing and Cleaning manufacturing equipment and associated components (Plates, Pads, Conditioning disks, Slurry and cleaning solution formulations etc.)Experience with Surface Measurement Metrology equipment, WLI, AFM.
  • Experience with Surface defect characterization Inspection Equipment.
  • Experience in statistical data analytics and process control (DOE, SPC) and hands-on experience with Polishing & Cleaning setups.
  • Effective at communicating data through text, graphics, and images to audiences of all experience levels.
  • Expert in data collection and analysis / interpretation, as well as presentation of experimental findings (e.g. JMP)
  • Effective communication and ability to thrive in a cross-functional development team.
