Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.
We are looking for a detail-oriented, hands-on Data Engineer to strengthen and grow our data collection, analysis, and presentation pipelines, which we use to report key business metrics and analyze our manufacturing process in real time. You will work with a team of veteran material scientists, and mechanical, electrical, metrology, and software engineers, supporting and leading various development and analytics projects to enhance, test, and visualize our data-driven manufacturing systems. Your goal will be to achieve maximum productivity for our production line by improving data ingestion and extraction techniques, standardizing collection and presentation methods, and ensuring data security. A strong candidate has a subset of the listed skills/qualifications and an interest in developing others.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and systems to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing and business data
  • Design and implement data processes, including extraction, cleansing, transformation, loading, and replication, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
  • Coordinate with a broad range of stakeholders, including senior business leadership, to deliver scalable and actionable data solutions
  • Assist in database optimization and application troubleshooting, document workflows, and improve visibility of data and software issues among internal teams
  • Lead the development of best practices for data engineering, infrastructure, and real-time data processing, sourcing and implementing solutions as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 3+ years experience in a data engineering or data-focused role
  • SQL expert with strong communication and data presentation skills
  • Working experience in cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and scripting languages (e.g. Python)
  • Working experience in data integration, pipeline, and database optimization
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently under limited supervision and as a team member in a collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry
  • Experience in Critical Manufacturing Execution System
  • Experience in data visualization tools (Grafana, Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
