Corvus UK is looking for an Underwriting Assistant to help us expand and support our growing book of Cyber business. A successful candidate will have strong analytical capabilities, good work ethic, and be a strong team player. This Underwriting Assistant will be focused on supporting the Underwriting team.

As an Underwriting Assistant at Corvus, you will leverage our technology platform in your day-to-day role to help the team work more efficiently and ultimately become more productive. This is an exciting opportunity for an Underwriting Assistant who’s tired of the status quo and wants to work in a more dynamic and innovative insurance environment where they can really shine in the London market!

The journey ahead:

  • Supporting underwriters' in their portfolio management and in accordance with the underwriting guidelines.

  • Responsible for supporting the underwriting team and helping the business development in line with plan and working with the Manager, Underwriting on delivering underwriting strategy

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the underwriter team such as data processing, report collation, and analysis

  • Liaise with the senior team member(s) for the production of reports

  • Bordereaux production

  • Support in the production of material Exposure Management monitoring

  • Assist with the monitoring of data quality on the underwriting systems for both Lloyd’s, Travelers and Coverholder reporting.

  • Produce ad hoc MI reporting as required. Extract and manipulate data from relevant data warehouses and format into new reports.

  • Responsible for monitoring traffic through department inboxes and ensuring all pieces of work are assigned and followed up to ensure completion.

  • Maintains an understanding of and complies with all relevant FCA / PRA / Lloyd’s regulatory requirements and other relevant regulatory requirements

  • Complies with all relevant company policies and procedures at all times

What you will bring to the flock:

  • Hold up to 1 years of experience in insurance

  • Degree or relevant qualification

  • ACII or relevant level of qualification or working towards a qualification

Competencies:

  • Highly numerate with the ability to produce consistently accurate work to tight deadlines.

  • Ability to progress issues on own initiative, but sufficient judgement to know when to refer to manager.

  • Ability to prioritise workload.

  • Flexible team player.

  • Good communication skills both verbally and in writing.

  • Willingness to learn and commit to development of professional qualification.

  • Sound computer skills

  • Must be computer literate, including a detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and Windows

  • Ability to work as an individual and in a team

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Organisational skills with attention to detail

  • Problem solving skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
