The Quality Team plays a critical role within our matrix organization, ensuring that our food products meet the highest standards in the plant-based protein industry. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team at the Columbia, Missouri location as a Quality Assurance Technician.
The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that all products manufactured meet regulatory requirements, customer specifications, company quality and food safety standards. This position is responsible for monitoring production processes, completing required documentation, conducting inspections, testing, and supporting compliance with food safety and quality programs. The QA Technician actively enforces regulatory standards and serves as a champion of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) throughout the facility.
TASKS, DUTIES, & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform daily quality checks on production lines and processes throughout the shift
Complete and maintain accurate documentation related to production, packaging, labeling, food safety, and product quality
Receive and inspect raw materials, film and labels, ensuring correct documentation, lot coding, and proper storage.
Conduct internal audits for GMPs, and other food safety prerequisite programs
Work closely with production leadership during active production and shutdown periods
Provide required documentation and print labels for production as needed
Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives related to quality systems
Enforce compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer standards
Model and coach team members on proper GMP practices
Adhere to all facility policies regarding safety, security, and food safety
Follow all company safety programs and procedures
Identify opportunities for process improvements and communicate findings effectively
Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Technical Skills, and/or Previous Experience:
Minimum HS or GED education
2 to 3 years of experience in a food and/or beverage manufacturing environment preferred
Prior quality assurance / Quality Inspection experience preferred
Other qualifications:
Must be capable of writing detailed reports, providing general day-to-day oversight, and related correspondence.
Strong mathematical skills
Strong problem solving and project management skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; self-motivated and highly organized
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Warehouse and production manufacturing environment includes both tempered and ambient areas.

Position requires the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods, step, balance, crouch, stoop, kneel, squat, bend, must be able to lift minimal 50 lbs. consistently, reach above shoulders, or as needed to complete tasks.
Must be able to occasionally climb stairs or a ladder to complete tasks.
Position located in a mix of production and office environments and requires tolerance for consistent cold work environments (-10 to -40˚ F), high worker traffic, loud noises, odors, dust, and varying room temperatures.
This position will visit the production floor, refrigerated and frozen storage, and warehouses.
Work flexible shifts as required.
Overtime and occasional holiday work may be required depending on operational needs.
**Hourly rate commensurate with experience**
The starting hourly base pay for this role is between USD $21.00 and $27.00 per hour. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
