OVERVIEW
Beyond Meat is hiring a REMOTE Regional Sales Manager based in Texas (or surrounding states) to join the company, managing the South-Central Region of the United States!
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) South-Central is a pivotal & highly visible member of the Field Sales Team, playing a crucial role in driving the growth and advancement of Beyond Meat’s Foodservice business. Collaborating closely with brokers, distributors, operators, and other strategic partners, the RSM-South Central contributes significantly to achieving the company’s mission in the Foodservice channel.
The RSM South-Central reports to the Sr. Director, Field Sales. They will deliver key objectives, including net revenue, volume, distribution, and share growth across both Non-Commercial and Commercial channels. This dynamic role demands high energy, a deep & comprehensive understanding of the Foodservice industry landscape in the South-Central Region, and the ability to inspire and foster strong relationships with various internal and external stakeholders. TASKS, DUTIES, & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales & Business Acumen:
Achieve assigned net revenue, volume, distribution, and share goals within the established Foodservice budget
Develop strategic regional business plans and prioritize key initiatives to help the Foodservice Sales Team deliver on the Annual Operating Plan (AOP
Broker Management:
Develop strong relationships at all levels with Foodservice broker (Acxion Foodservice) throughout the South-Central Region by engaging, motivating, and leading them as an extension of the Beyond Meat Sales Team
Adapt national broker priorities into clear regional and market-level KPI’s, providing the necessary tools and ongoing training to enable brokers to meet/exceed quarterly objectives
Conduct regular sales trainings and key sales calls alongside the broker sales team in each market
Operator Business Development:
Leverage national agreements/contracts with Food Management Companies (e.g., Compass, Aramark & Sodexo) and Group Purchasing Organizations (e.g., Foodbuy, Premier & Vizient) to open doors for new business opportunities throughout South-Central Region in College/University, Healthcare, B&I and Military segments; measure progress via quarterly KPI’s.
Prospect, profile, and successfully sell Beyond Meat® products into targeted regional chains in the region; measure progress via quarterly KPI’s.
Partner with the Acxion Foodservice Team (broker) to identify additional large leverage operator (LLO) opportunities throughout the region for Beyond Meat products; measure progress via quarterly KPI’s.
Distribution Business Development:
Own the relationship with top strategic broadline distributors in the South-Central region
Collaborate with top strategic broadline distributors and broker teams to develop annual category marketing plans and initiatives
Introduce new products and secure commitments to close distribution voids throughout the region with assistance from broker teams at local level
Represent Beyond Meat at targeted distributor events including food shows and sales meetings ensuring new business development and category leadership
Leverage broker teams throughout the region to pursue new distributor partnerships to help expand product availability in untapped markets
Communication:
Clearly communicate expectations and goals – both verbally and in writing – to external partners, providing ongoing feedback and conducting Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to support FS broker partners in achieving sales targets
Negotiate and manage contracts, marketing agreements, and growth programs to optimize partnerships and growth opportunities
Provide written updates for internal team on key region activities, new business, etc.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, sales activities, and account information in CRM (Salesforce) system, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Manage robust pipeline through CRM (Salesforce) on a weekly basis
Provide ongoing competitive intelligence updates and region feedback to Beyond Meat Leadership Team to help inform strategic decision-making
QUALIFICATIONS - Education, Technical Skills, and/or Previous Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
7+ years of proven CPG Foodservice sales, distributor, and regional key account management experience with branded, value-added products
3+ years of sales agency (broker) management experience a major plus, demonstrating a proven ability to drive results via third party partnerships
Proven track record achieving quarterly sales targets (KPI’s) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) goals
Strong business and financial acumen with trade budget management experience
Exceptional strategic sales development and negotiation skills
Solid interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
High integrity and commitment to working in a team environment; experience building strong relationships with internal cross-functional teams
Results-oriented self-starter with a proactive bias to action
Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce)
Strong competency and experience leveraging analytics/insights in selling process
Fluent in Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and trade management systems
Excellent multitasking and prioritization abilities within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial work environment
Self-motivated and capable of working independently and as part of a broader team
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is entirely remote based in/near a major city, preferably in Texas (e.g. Dallas, Houston, Austin or San Antonio) and within 50 miles of a major airport to facilitate travel and accessibility for business purposes
Candidates remotely based in/near a major city in another market outside of Texas but within the South-Central region and within 50 miles of a major airport may also be considered
Up to 60% overnight travel expected via car or airplane throughout region
The ideal candidate will have experience working remotely as well as the ability to work from a home office in this role
The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $ 120,000 and $150,000. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
