The PR & Communications Manageris a full-time position based at HQ in El Segundo, reporting to the Senior Director, Communications & PR. This is an opportunity to join one of the world’s leading plant-based meat companies that’s revolutionizing the food system. This fast-paced role will play an active part in supporting Beyond Meat’s day-to-day global communications efforts, including corporate communications and consumer PR. Responsibilities will include developing, leading and executing strategic PR plans, extensive drafting of messaging and media materials, and both proactive and reactive media relations.
The PR & Communications Manager will be required to have exceptional writing skills, strong national media contacts in the food and lifestyle space, and a keen attention to detail. To succeed in the role, you need to be a proactive self-starter who can simultaneously manage multiple deliverables and deadlines and be willing to flex beyond your level to take on new roles and responsibilities. This role will work closely with our influencer manager and social team to create integrated support plans and programs.

TASKS, DUTIES, & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft all press materials including messaging, press releases, briefing sheets, blog posts, e-blasts, etc.
  • Drive consumer PR planning, strategy and execution
  • Maintain and grow relationships with key food and lifestyle media including media outreach, pitching and engagement
  • Coordinate and staff onsite media visits
  • Oversee the PR agency and lead all agency calls
  • Create recap slides and reports
  • Manage the PR calendar and communicate real time updates to holistic team members
  • Work closely with the influencer, social and digital teams to amplify key moments and content across earned & owned channels
  • Collaborate with the broader marketing team on key campaigns and brand moments

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Technical Skills, and/or Previous Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, PR or relevant field
  • 6-8 years of experience in the PR or communications field, ideally at a PR agency or in-house
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical
  • Existing network of top tier food and lifestyle media relationships
  • Able to work collaboratively and independently, multitask and manage a varied, high-volume workload within a fast-paced environment
  • Professional maturity and ease with all levels of company management
  • Genuine interest in the food industry and a passion for creating a more nutritious, sustainable, and humane food system
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Expected to be in the office five (5) days per week at our El Segundo, CA HQ
