About the Role

We are hiring our first Corporate Controller to join our growing and evolving company. We are looking for an experienced corporate controller to oversee all accounting and reporting. You will report directly to our Head of Finance and will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions. We currently have a small in-house team and rely on an accounting services firm. Together with the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for building out the long-term accounting solution to support our high volume business. This position is a perfect fit for those who bring an aptitude and desire to build best in class accounting processes in a fast-paced, quickly evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes
  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
  • Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
  • Lead role in establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database and systems
  • Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
  • Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff
  • Potentially, design, hire, and remotely manage an offshore team

Who (we think) You Are

While roles and priorities continue to evolve, we think you will need the following qualifications. If you feel you could drive impact in this role at aifleet and do not meet some of the following criteria, please do not hesitate to apply.

  • CPA with 5+ years experience in a Corporate Controller role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with attention to process and documentation in addition to accuracy; an eye for process improvement and streamlining functions
  • Ability to manage deadlines across multiple project streams.
  • Experience building out or managing an offshore team to support the accounting function
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment a major plus
  • Experience and proficiency with Quickbooks, Microsoft Suite and other accounting applications.
